I love reading about WWII and the years right before and after. I wouldn't want to be there. I used to love Regency era too. But as another mentioned, the hygiene, or laws/ human rights are far better now and I would be so uncomfortable, even scared in both time frames.
I would like to go back to the Victorian era, when men tipped hats to ladies and stood when they entered a room. A time when women were modest, but strong. When there was no social media and people showed respect to those who worked hard to deserve it. A time when children were allowed to be children and dress like it. Quieter times in many ways; not all. No ear is perfect.
I like to read about the Victorian, Civil War, and World War II eras and would like to see these times. But, as far as hygiene goes I’m glad I live in this era. 😂
