Hey Mom, have questions about Homeschooling? Here’s what other moms had to say.

Describe the scene where you homeschool (furniture, action, etc.).

Sanders

We turned our living room into my dream classroom and have two desks for teacher and student. There are lots of shelves and a dry erase board that gets daily use and is my most favorite item to use in the room. There are big windows for natural light, and I was able to get a great deal on a printer, laminator, and sound system for the room. We also use the kitchen table for a change in scenery and the bedroom if we're having a leisurely day of learning.

My oldest daughter and I sit on the loveseat in our living room. She has a desk with legs that slip under the loveseat. My other two children (ages 6 and 4) are on my left sitting at a little kid table with chairs.

How about 'scenes'' ? One corner in our wine and cream colored living room, on a love-seat with pillow blanket and a pile consisting of books, pencils and eraser...and sometimes a laptop. A computer desk in our warm yellowy-gold library / dining room with a snack and a drink. A round dining room table with four chairs, all filled with students studying language arts. A couch, love-seat, and chairs, all filled, listening to Mom read historical fiction among blankets and pillows and with a snack bowl. Pillow-laden beds with piles of books at their feet. On their bellies, on their backs, Indian style, sometimes a foot on the desk or table until Mom catches them, or sunk into a swivel arm chair with feet up and ear phones on.
