By taking them out of public school. They sleep in longer everyday then their peers who wake up at 5:30! Kids should not have to wake up at 5:30 to start their day
Even if they don't go to sleep, everyone has to lay down and be quiet and rest. Exactly what my mom told me. They are much readier for afternoon school if they aren't tired. We take about an hour since bathroom trips take up part of it- but if someone truly falls asleep, they are left to sleep as long as they need and the rest of us do school quietly until that brother or sister wakes up. My favorite days are the ones I can nap with them!
I did a progressive relaxation and guided visualization for by husband and daughters. It was so funny, because they all fell asleep deeply that night. LOL. It was cute. They all think I have such a relaxing voice. :) I also massage their feet when they are totally stressed. That always helps them relax. Singing also helps a lot, especially when they are babies, but also with older children.
