We go on annual marriage retreats at least twice a year and we try to have monthly dates. We are also part of our church's marriage ministry which has monthly events and topics for discussion. It's important for us to be surrounded with other like-minded couples for whom divorce is not an option and who encourage and support each other.

My hubby and I have talked recently about taking time to ourselves. Though, we dont have a babysitter we have the idea that we can set our boy up in his own room with his games and/or movies get him his own pizza or tacos and some drinks and treats and make a special night for him to enjoy to himself , while Hubby and I have a nice candle light dinner at the table with each other and cuddle on the couch with our favorite movie or shows. My boy is 8 years old and plays well on his own and would really enjoy a fun pizza or taco night to himself!

My husband struggle with giving our marriage time! We have our kids with us all the time they are rarely away from us. My husband focus his time and energy so much on ministry that his family lacks. It has been three years since we out on a outside date or a family trip. The times we had free time as a couple he saw fit for us to double date needless to say; I almost walked away from my marriage. I enjoy time one on one time and family time. I prayed for him to put his self into my and our kids shoes! He has now seen the effects of not watering our marriage. We now have lots if family time. We also have inside dates once kids are to put to bed we listen to jazz and have a candle light dinner!
