Patient and kind....although they also think I'm a bit unhip, they call me a "boomer" in jest. My 2 graduates have been very grateful that they were homeschooled.
A diary for lessons!
My 9 year old said I am a very good teacher. She only says that because I don't require her and her sister to conform to one set schedule. We do a rotating schedule depending on whether or not my 13 year old is suffering from her bipolar symptoms that week. This has really helped them both be able to stay on track and remain in a healthier state of mind.
