1) Write it all down. I'm always afraid of forgetting something, and it's so easy to do, I write it down, and then I don't have to keep my mind cluttered with everything I'm trying to remember. 2) Make a rough schedule. I look at what has to be done today, estimate how much time it will take to do it, then plan it into the schedule as a priority. (anything else, may or may not be done.) 3) Pray. I don't know how people get through stressful times without God to cover them with his peace.
Delegate whenever possible. If the eldest son is done with school work, it's time to do chores for him. Take care of the most pressing "out of house" concerns first and then the most pressing "in house" concerns next. I'm the house secretary, so that means returning phone calls for doctors, putting in legal paperwork, doing bills, etc... This is usually done first thing in the morning. In house concerns are school work and chores. When we had animals, chores came first, but now school work does. By the time in and out of house most pressing concerns are done it's afternoon and I can take my time on the laundry or dishes or whatever while the children play. Silent prayers through out the day. Little things like, "Please Lord, just let me get through this unit." "Please Lord make a way for him to understand." "Please Lord give me the will to continue on for five more minutes."
Divide the list into morning, afternoon, evening One day at a time on my list Prioritize - using reality Streamline - Keep it simple Delegate - even if it's just having someone help with the process I LOVE drawing a line through what I have completed!
