When my children were very young, my husband worked Saturdays most of the time, so my responsibilities did not get any lighter. But life has changed drastically since then. I can now look forward to Saturdays as a free day of no teaching, no planning, no grading..NO GUILT. It is MY day, and the Law can not tell me how to spend it. During the week, every time you send your kids outside to play, or on an errand, you had to consider the time of day, 'just in case' someone decided that the kids were skipping school and call authorities. You have to make sure you're getting some quality teaching in, make sure they have some play time, make sure they are fed....just so many things. But on Saturdays, there is NOTHING to do with school. I love home-schooling, of course, but Saturdays are certainly a refreshing vacation day.

I don’t look forward to weekends. I look forward to Monday’s when we get back to our schedule and routine. I like my space and to be honest weekends are too much, high on stress and low on peace.
