I will be taking my kids to the nursing home to sing today. It’s teaching them to give, it’s also showing them to remember their parents and respect them because we all grow old.
We every year, give our kids our spare change and have them put it aside. So when the belling ringing comes to our local and distance stores; they donate their change to them. We are trying to teach our kids about giving back.
We have the kids set money aside every month to go into their give envelope and at the end end of the year it’s where the money for the Samaritan shoe boxes comes from, and presents for family and friends. Plus we go caroling for cans and collect them for the local food pantry. This year my daughter was old enough to come with me to help volunteer at the pantry. Anytime you can get them to serve alongside you and see what it’s all about is the greatest tool to teach generosity.
